Will I (a girl) make it as a US Marine?

As a girl, can I make it in the US Marine corps? I want to enlist next year when I turn 18. I'm tall and thin but athletic and extremely determined. My downfall is my stubbornness but it can be tamed. I'm also a total tomboy. I want to protect and serve my country. I'm willing to fight for what I believe in and for those who I love. I need to help my country. I feel it's what I was born to do. I talked to a Marine last week and he interested me with the stories of being on the frontlines, and he said to give him a call if I ever wish to enlist. Can a girl make it as a Marine? What should I expect being one of the only girls amongst the other men?
