House Flooded by Contractor?

A contractor (licensed, reputable ones) are insured. So even though they tell you to take it up with your insurance company, the contractor is the one who's liable. They're liable for the work (or lack there of) that he did and also for the damages he did due to his negligence. Gather up all the documentation, photos, evidence, fire station's assessment or statements etc and sue the contractor.
