What kind of coat should I wear in Chicago when its cold?

It won't get REALLY cold in Chicago until December, then normally it is cold until about March. then March is a cold/cool month, April is a cool month, May is cool/warm, June is warm, July is hot, Aug is hot, Sept is warm, Oct is cool, Nov is cool/cold. I like the peacoat w/hood in blue. You will definitely need something to keep your head warm in winter and the hood is a good start. Do not get a really, really tight fitting coat that way you can add some layers under the coat if you need to. Believe me Chicago can have some stunningly cold weather in winter, but it usually does not last more than a week or 10 days. Also if you are going to be outside on really cold days you might want to consider a pair(top & bottom) of ladies thermal underwear which you can find on the internet at a retailer like amazon.com A trick I use to keep the really cold wind out of my ears are the little foam ear plugs, they really do keep the inside of the ear warm. You will need winter boots for your feet which are warm and waterproof, also you might need wool socks with a sock of another material under the wool, if wool bothers you.
